Problem:
Unable to Open Attachments in Outlook, Cannot Create File in Outlook 2010
Cause:
This issue arises due to Deny Permission of download folder (Outlook temporary folder). We can resolve this problem by changing the permission.
Solution:
How to Fix Outlook 2010 to Open Attachments
Step 1:
Create a folder in any drive. For example create one folder in drive C:\ and name it as temp
Step 2:
Open start menu and type regedit then hit Enter. Registry edit window will open.
Now we are going to do some tricks in the registry.
Step 3:
In the registry editor window go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security\ (Outlook 2010)
[For Outlook 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security
For Outlook 2007: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security]
Select the Security folder, you can find OutlookSecureTempFolder in the right side
Step 4:
Double click OutlookSecureTempFolder.
In the Value data field type C:\temp\ ('temp' is the folder name that we created before) and then click OK
Step 5:
Close registry editor window and restart the computer. That’s all, now you are able to open any attachment files in Outlook 2010.
